A fast-growing, full-service print, design, and marketing company located in the Baltimore metro area is seeking to hire a Full-time Sales Manager to join its team. As a Sales Leader here, you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of our organization. As a change agent for sales development, your responsibilities will include coaching, driving accountability and analyzing the sales process, ultimately resulting in an efficient sales and sales leadership team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sales management background that is heavy in process development, auditing, reporting, coaching and development. This person should also be a self-starter who is prepared to own, define, develop, and execute sales strategies and consistently over-deliver revenue targets. This is an “in the trenches” position requiring persistence and attention to process excellence and execution. Individuals who thrive in this type of role understand how to analyze data, observe sales behaviors, break down processes and drive the right levers that lead to improvement in metric performance and sales behaviors that yield growth in revenue as well as growth in sales associates.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations and effectiveness of the sales department including a team of salespeople, sales leaders, and other customer facing team members (direct reports, indirect reports, and team members in other departments under separate leadership)
- Provide sales acumen training and sales process improvements, as well as coaching, to Project Management, Business Development and Sales Development team members
- Develop, recommend, and implement sales department policies, plans, programs, and goals to assist in achieving company objectives
- Communicate organizational objectives to sales team and other customer facing team members
- Hold all customer facing team members accountable to continually meet or exceed defined portfolio revenue targets
- Ensure the utilization of systems and techniques required to monitor and control department activities (CRM and database ordering system)
- Establish daily operating rhythm for salespeople and sales leadership
- Provide sales information for decision making and planning efforts
- Coach and develop sales team daily including auditing of associated tasks and behaviors
- Facilitate regular sales team meetings
- Develop auditing standards and checkpoints with continuous monitoring
- Build and carry out strategic initiatives for sales
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
- Ensure that our salespeople are compliant with company culture and that they consistently deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers
- Occasional evening and weekend hours required to attend networking events and other company/client functions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior experience managing a sales team in a CRM environment required
- Experience in reporting and data-driven decision-making, both setting up the framework and effectively analyzing data and feedback for insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of presenting to teams, clients, and senior management
- Must have a proven track record in change management of sales teams through demonstrated performance improvement techniques and processes
- Must have demonstrated ability in managing individual sales teams for performance
- Must have demonstrated abilities to manage up and across the leadership component of the organization to align and drive uniform management of the sales process
- Must be relentless in driving for performance daily
- Ability to develop strong, productive relationships across organizations that foster collaboration
- Focus on demonstrating business impact and measurable results
- Demonstrated ability to implement programs, processes & policies
- Proficiency with Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent customer service skills
