Restaurant Equipment Estimator-FT

A leading firm with five unique divisions that support foodservice and facilities clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region is seeking a Restaurant Equipment Estimator to join its Restaurant Equipment and Design Division, which specializes in servicing foodservice operators through the 48 lower states with restaurant equipment in addition to kitchen design and layout capabilities. Under the direction of Project Managers, the Project Estimator is responsible for assisting, organizing, and tracking project activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Project Estimator is an integral member of the project management team, coordinating resources, equipment, and information, and acting as a liaison between Project Managers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders. This role requires a continual learner with a growth mindset, always seeking to improve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for material, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Analyze written specifications and drawings to perform accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Team, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
  • Generate project bid status reports to include current and future estimates.
  • Lead contractual documentation such as preparing sales agreements, bid forms, P&P bonds, and OCIP/CCIP paperwork.
  • Collaborate with Customers, Owners, Chefs, General Contractors, Manufacturers Sales Reps, and others to finalize estimates.
  • Attend onsite pre-bid and scope meetings.
  • Review change orders and obtain management approval.
  • Build positive relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Identify new markets for organizational growth.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; education may be substituted with related experience.

Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret project specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring all estimates are precise and comprehensive.
  • Communication Skills: Effective collaboration with architects, designers, project managers, vendors, and clients. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in performing accurate calculations and financial assessments.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating bids and contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam. AutoQuotes and/or Netsuite proficiency is preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently while handling multiple priorities and responsibilities.
  • Must have strong problem-solving, time management, organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or feel office or mechanical tools/equipment. It also requires occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and crawling. May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Office hours are from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. May require occasional evening or weekend hours as business needs demand.

Travel:

  • This position may require occasional travel to attend training and/or conferences.
