A dynamic CPA and consulting firm, committed to a culture of excellence, offering accounting & finance, audit, income tax, MSP, risk advisory, SALT, cybersecurity, HR and other services, is seeking Full-time Project Manager to join its Workiva Implementation Services Team. This is an opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who wants to positively impact colleagues, clients and ultimately the bottom line, by driving efficiencies, improving the client experience, reducing the overall time, and decreasing project execution costs.  Our firm is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland, and while this new hire may work remotely, s/he must reside in the eastern, central, or mountain time zone.  This PM will be expected to travel to our office, clients/prospects, and our technology partner, on occasion, as required by business need.


  • Reporting to a Director, Advisory Services, the Project Manager will lead and co-lead requirements analysis, design, development, testing, migration, implementation, delivery, and support for projects.
  • Facilitating requirement gathering sessions to kick off each project, ensuring project details are clearly explicated, documented, and approved
  • Defining project success criteria and disseminating these to involved parties throughout each project’s lifecycle
  • Ensuring appropriate project resourcing by assisting with the selection and hours’ oversight of consultants and contractors
  • Collaborating with internal project teams from initiation to close-out, including the use of a project management information system sharing status updates, project documents, and meeting minutes
  • Providing budget / cost related information and scheduling activities related to multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creating and maintaining weekly reports summarizing the status of each project including recent accomplishments and upcoming tasks.
  • Maintaining and sharing lists of risks and issues for each project
  • Conducting research on project related issues, solving these problems or escalating them to the appropriate individuals
  • Providing necessary levels of oversight to ensure project performance criteria are being met
  • Supporting the ongoing use of Return on Investment (ROI) for all projects and categorizing projects based on this metric
  • Establishing a project management process document, such as a Standard Operating Process (SOP) manual, to enable consistency and drive efficiency
  • Championing continuous improvements in relation to the effective implementation of project management processes across service lines
  • Conducting project post-mortems and creating a recommendations’ report to identify successful as well as unsuccessful project elements
  • Staying abreast of emerging trends regarding project management and process improvements
  • Providing exceptional service to clients, always acting as a positive brand ambassador for firm


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum four (4) years of project management experience
  • Experience researching and resolving project-related issues
  • Experience prioritizing multiple complex tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (likely less) if or as required by business needs
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrable examples of innovative thinking and problem solving
  • Experience reacting promptly and efficiently to project adjustments / alterations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Project Management, Technology Project Management Business Administration, Information Systems, Accounting, or Information Technology
  • CAPM and/or PMP from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • IT, technology implementation, and/or financial system implementation project management experience
  • Experience in a professional services/consulting firm
  • Proven record of successful project delivery in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget control
  • Experience using a Project Management Information System
  • Experience interfacing with and servicing external clients
