A company producing high quality medical cannabis (located in Pikesville), is seeking a Patient Services Associate.
The Patient Services Associate position works one-on-one with patients to recommend products that best match their needs. This position is responsible for ensuring excellent patient experience through friendly, outgoing service, strong communication skills, and fluency in all products. The PSA understands empathy and compassion, wants to help people, and can listen to the patient to understand their needs and what they are looking for.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Greeting patients with a warm smile and by name as you get to know them
- Gain knowledge and educate patients on the effects, benefits, and overall experience of the different cannabis products that we offer
- Inform patient on the proper safety measures when consuming cannabis products
- Train for and adapt to several roles in the dispensary to meet day to day requirements
- Providing excellent customer service, for the entirety of a patient’s time a patient with us
- Maintaining proper visitor log
- Answer questions and provide patient education on cannabis products.
- Keeps informed of all policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with COMAR
- Up to date and continued cannabis training/education
- Making sure patient is eligible to and the amount they can purchase/verifying ID
- Handling transactions, giving correct discounts, and correct change
- Knowing opening and closing procedures depending on the shift working
- Maintain strictest confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain a positive work environment
- Maintaining a tidy dispensary, including the front area, sales dispensing floor, consult room, and bathrooms
- Operating Point of Sale system
- Assist in verifying online orders for in store pick-up and delivery
- Assisting with housekeeping, restocking/cleaning where needed
- Answering phones with proper greeting and taking appropriate messages
Qualifications and Skills
These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.
Qualifications include:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- 21 years of age or older
- Desire to learn more about cannabis
- Availability to work 5-day work weeks that include weekdays, weekends, nights and some holidays between the hours of 9:30am and 8:30pm, depending on the shift
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Experience handling cash and a computer point of sale system
- Ability to follow directions well
- Ability to work well unsupervised

Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Cannabis Industry: 1 year (Required)
- Retail sales: 1 year (Required)

Salary: $16.00/hr.
