Jewish Care and Support Associate Director (Hospice)

The largest Hospice Care in Maryland is seeking a Jewish Care and Support Associate Director.

 

The Jewish Care and Support Associate Director will lead and provide provision of both home care and in-patient space dedicated to ensuring the sanctity of Jewish rituals and customs — to provide greater comfort and therefore better care for our Jewish patients and/or their Jewish families.

 

Educates the Jewish Community about serious illness and end of life care and helps to remove barriers in this community to utilizing palliative, hospice care, and grief counseling.  Assists the Philanthropy Department in raising funds and meeting the annual fundraising goals to support the Jewish Care and Support Program.

 

 

Education
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, chaplaincy, or related field
Experience Five years’ experience working in a health care environment serving the Jewish community.  Preferred experience will include work in  serious illness and/or  end of life care.
Skills
  • Knowledge of planning principles and techniques
  • Experience in project management
  • Works collaboratively with staff across all services lines
  • Knowledge and experience in health care delivery systems
  • Skill in marketing and public relations analysis
  • Skill in organizational and quantitative analysis methods
  • Advanced skill in oral and written communication
  • Ability to build, promote and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to present before small and large groups
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, concentrate and pay close attention to detail
Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment with driving as large part of the day in the field, which includes visits to hospitals, skilled nursing & assisted living facilities, and patient’s homes, some in unsafe areas (escort provided).
  • Exposed to adverse working conditions due to performance of patient care activities and exposure to communicable diseases
