Inside Sales/Business Development Associate-FT

A dynamic CPA and consulting firm is seeking an Inside Sales / Business Development Associate-State & Local Tax to join its team. Under the general joint direction of a State & Local Tax Practice Director and a Business Development Director, the Inside Sales / Business Development Associate will contact prospective clients from a provided lead list, with the intent of scheduling sales appointments.

Responsibilities:

  • Research companies on lead lists to gain a basic understanding of their business, identify key stakeholders when needed, then generate their interest.
  • Source new sales opportunities through outbound cold calls, LinkedIn, and emails.
  • Outreach to a minimum of 50 leads per day, aiming to ultimately set conference calls and generate future sales.
  • Describe Firm and our SALT services, explaining why the lead has been identified as a great candidate.
  • Ask and answer questions to determine the service that is the best fit for the lead.
  • Effectively overcome objections posed, via phone or email
  • Timely and appropriate follow up and tracking of initiative outcomes.
  • Build relationships with colleagues as well as prospective clients.
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate Subject Matter Expert (SME) for further development and closure
  • Document all activity and maintain the accuracy of Firm’s client relationship management (CRM) tool.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or beyond
  • Minimum two years of inside sales / business development experience
  • Experience cold calling prospects in attempt to solicit business.
  • High energy, enthusiastic personality with the ability to easily build rapport.
  • Competitive spirit, tenacity, and determination
  • Experience pushing forward in spite of ongoing rejection.
  • Excellent communication skills including a strong phone presence.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a consulting firm.
  • Knowledge of state and local tax
  • Experience generating leads.
  • Experience converting leads into sales.
