A Towson hotel is seeking a Front Desk Agent.
Applicants should have prior hospitality industry experience, along with computer experience.
Must be flexible with scheduling. Applicant must have a friendly and cheerful persona with a positive attitude, excellent people skills and an energetic personality.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Prior lightspeed systems experience
Advise guests of all hotel services, features and accommodations
Familiar with property, departments, hours of operation and services of the hotel
Know and understand guest needs and expectations; Handle guest complaints
Check in and out guests in a knowledgeable, proficient, expeditious manner; Accurately handle walk-in guests; Properly assign rooms based on room locations, rate, and guaranteed or requested room types
Communicate with Housekeeping regarding VIP arrivals and expediting VR rooms
Answer phones using proper hotel greeting and etiquette; Route telephone calls
Collect payment for all charges; maintain cash draw; process credit cards and direct billing; Be knowledgeable of hotel credit.
Answer basic Front Office related questions
Basic knowledge of how to operate all Front Desk equipment; Ability to solve basic equipment problems and/or who to contact for resolution
Receive and deliver clear and professional messages in the computer and offer assistance with voice mail
Properly accept, handle and deliver guest mail, packages and faxes in a timely fashion
Confirm, record and deliver wake-up calls (using manual sheets and switchboard)
Have daily knowledge of groups in-house, banquet events and local current events
Assist guests with Safe Deposit Boxes
Know all hotel specific emergency procedures
