One of the nation’s leading privately held hotel investment and third-party management companies is seeking a Full-time Enterprise Director of Finance to be responsible for day-to-day accounting, forecasting accuracy, and budgeting of assigned HEI assets. This individual is responsible for the month end close process, balance sheet reconciliation, process improvement, and the control environment of each assigned hotel. The Enterprise Director of Finance will train property staff to ensure they understand HEI operating policies and appropriate usage of all relevant financial systems and protocols
Responsibilities:
- Supervise hotels in preparing their monthly hotel forecast, annual operating budget, and monthly financial statements; Directs and/or prepares all financial reports in accordance with HEI’s requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines.
- Reviews Balance Sheets for completeness & accuracy denoting any material risks with the appropriate follow-up and communication to properly resolve.
- Evaluates compliance with Internal Audit Program through evaluation and periodic testing of particular components.
- Analyzes and participates in monthly financial reviews in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotels’ financial objectives.
- Performs monthly meetings and, at a minimum, once per quarter in-person visit with assigned properties to reinforce training with HEI Tools, Rhythms, and Checklists for compliance and appropriate usage.
- Acts as a liaison between Ownership and Property team to advise on Financial or Compliance initiatives.
- Directly supervises the on-property Finance leadership team in Hiring, Development, Mentorship, and Performance Evaluation
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Sound experience working within the hotel or service industry preferably in a multi-unit capacity.
- Previous Multi-Property and/or Director of Finance experience recommended
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of hotel month-end, budgeting, forecasting, and financial preparation process.
- A high level of Finance, Accounting, Strategy and Analysis knowledge and skills.
- A deep understanding of the hospitality industry, including all facets of development, opening, operating, conversion and transition, owner relations and revenue management; Ability to create complex models utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- A strong ability to successfully direct multiple and complex project work streams to successful completion.
- An effective leader of change with an ability to communicate, instruct and engage internal talent in order to achieve ongoing and effective change.
Pay: DOE; $130,000-$155,000/year.
