Driver

A nonprofit organization which supports youth and adults with disabilities to experience full inclusion in their communities as they learn, work, and pursue their paths to personal success is seeking a Part-time Driver to join their team. Drivers are responsible for providing transportation services for adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Transportation services can be from various community locations, including, but not limited to residential homes, community activities, places of employment and the company’s main location in Millersville, Maryland.  This position will be required to provide assistance to individuals entering and exiting the vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Transporting individuals by driving an agency vehicle and/or your own personal vehicle to various community locations, including, but not limited to residential homes, community activities, places of employment and main location in Millersville, Maryland.
  • To act in a manner that is dignified, respectful, and honors the individual’s rights, preferences and needs as determined within the person-centered plan (PCP).
  • Provide, monitor and maintain a safe work environment in the vehicles, including proper use of wheelchair tie-downs.
  • Provide accurate and quality documentation of all services provided, in accordance with OBI, state, and federal regulations by entering data as required
  • Attend external meetings, conferences and trainings as needed/requested by supervisor.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Participate in ongoing in-service training and maintain all state, federal and OBI required trainings.
  • Participate in specialized training for any assigned individual

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s license, with three points or less driving record and 3+ years driving experience.
  • Ability to perform and meet job and physical requirements.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with people with intellectual and physical disabilities is preferred (may include personal experience from having a family member or member(s) with a disability)
  • Able to perform job with autonomy

Pay:  $14.00/hour
