A top rated pest control company in Baltimore, is seeking a Business Operations Specialist to support the strategic plans and operating objectives of our business.
As the Business Operations Specialist, you’ll provide specialized advice, facilitation, and support to our Owners and Management in the development and implementation of effective systems, procedures, programs, and/or practices. To thrive, you are highly organized and have strong project management, follow through, and implementation skills and show demonstrated longevity at a previous company.
This role will work from our Owings Mills office location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Operations
- Assist the Owners in developing, planning, and coordinating operational activities.
- Monitor day-to-day technical operations, report on system performance, and recommend actionable improvements when necessary.
- Recommend new procedures for increasing the efficiency of day-to-day operations.
- Maintain communication with Owners, managers, employees, and vendors to ensure adherence to protocols across key touch points.
- Support routing and zoning efforts and implement back-end technical initiatives in support of process.
- Assist with territory planning/Maps and growth for each territory.
- Maintain our software system, pull reports and use the information for continuous improvement.
Financial
- Collaborate with Owners on financial information and implement the adjustment of operational budgets to promote profitability.
- Interface with CSRs to gather information and close out month end financials.
- Assist with accounts receivable, invoice entry, cash receipts, payroll processing, database entry and other accounting functions.
- Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in accounting.
- Coordinate with the accounting firm on preparing the company’s spending and financial reports for Ownership.
- Verify deposits and payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Participate in managing vendors, inventory management, purchasing and projections.
- Ensure that all customer payments received each business day are processed appropriately.
Compliance
- Comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
- Ensure proper insurance is in place.
- Conduct worker’s compensation audits.
- Develop and implement department-wide quality control measures.
- Ensure that operations are in legal compliance with local and national regulations.
- Confirm all business licensing, permits and insurance policies are up to date.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in an operations role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other software systems; Pivot Tables a plus!
- Prior experience with QuickBooks and PestPac preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience in the pest control industry preferred, but not required.
- Longevity at a previous company is important to us!
- Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled at working with software, data and analytics.
- Process and results driven and enjoys a challenge.
- Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
